Mountain Biking

Something very special has been created in the forests of South Scotland over the last few years. The 7stanes mountain bike routes, now acknowledged as the world's best outside North America, offer over 160 km of fantastic forest biking.

Ideally centrally situated to use as a base to 'do' some of the 7 Stanes. Only 6 miles from Dalbeattie and the 'Slab' and with Mabie & Kirroughtree only 30 minutes drive away, Galloway is a Mountain Bikers Heaven.
Owning a Lappierre Zesty & a Whyte T130 full suspension bikes and enjoying the sport himself David will be pleased to welcome fellow Bikers and assist them in anyway. Both bikes are available for use if you don't fancy bringing your own. Safe storage / washing facilities / packed lunches / early breakfasts to late dinners can all be organised for those going for a full day on some of the splendid curling single track. Come and discover the thigh burning  'Elevator'  'Scorpion's Tail' or 'Hissing Sid ' and other aptly named technical trails.
There are plenty of 'natural trails' as well as some interesting 'coastal' routes and we can advise and recommend accordingly. Large groups can be accommodated as well with plenty of lock up space provided for your bikes and your gear - I know how expensive they can get !
Whether experienced or a beginner or bring the whole family -  there is a route to suit all levels and great views of the Galloway Hills to enjoy as well. If you feel you need instruction a biker pal has done all the coaching certificates etc for all ages and I can arrange that also.If your bike is in need of repair - NEXT LEVEL bike shop is literally 75yds along the street and Mark will get you mobile again
The first Sunday in October is the Dalbeattie Hard Rock Challenge , this is a 10 mile run followed by a 16 mile bike ride through the forest. Do it all or as a team !!
